Euthanasia Appointments

The loss of a pet, no matter the circumstance, is a loss of a rare and special part of your life.  Losing a family pet can be one of the most difficult and impactful times in your life. Research had confirmed that for most people the loss of a pet is, in almost every way, comparable to the loss of a human loved one. 

Most dogs and cats do not enjoy a visit to the vet even when they are feeling their very best.  Having an in-home appointment for a euthanasia appointment often eliminates the burden and stress, instead allowing you and your pet to remain in a comfortable and familiar environment.  Saying ‘goodbye’ to our beloved pets is one of the hardest decisions a pet owner can make.  St. Francis Veterinary Housecalls understands this and we will do everything we can to make the procedure as calm and tranquil as possible for you and your pet.  

Our Euthanasia appointments are scheduled at the end of the day, so we are staying with you and your pet as long as we can in order to make the process as comfortable as possible. For the same reason, all euthanasia visits include sedation and we schedule 1-2 hours for these appointments. If you have a Quality of Life evaluation scheduled or a pet undergoing Hospice Support, please let us know as soon as possible if you think that the recheck might end up being a euthanasia appointment to schedule you accordingly.
